SOCK CATS
With temperatures dipping into the low 50’s at night here in the Pacific Northwest, I wanted to share with you some items to get you thinking about autumn. I am a cat lover at heart and decided to try my hand at making some sock cats after pouring over old pictures from books and magazines. Each cat has his own distinctive look and there are 2 available. They are made from my own design with no pattern used and measure roughly 6 ½” H x 3 ½” w and are stuffed with dark wool and other dark fabric snippets. They have old button eyes and a wool strip around their necks and each have a long braided tail. They sit up nicely and have some weight, making them poseable as well. I just love them sitting together !! Please note that these are not toys and are made for display only. $29.99 each includes free shipping within the USA

PRIM PATCH PUMPKIN
Pumpkins are some of my favorite things to display during the fall, and what better way to do that than with a pumpkin you can keep out all year long! This pumpkin is also my own design and measures 9” H (including stem) x 6” W, and is made with heavy osnaburg fabric, painted and stained with my special spice mixture and firmly stuffed with fabric snippets, making it quite heavy. It has a large stick for a stem, and is embellished with two stained osnaburg patches and some bark covered wire at the top. It will come signed and dated by me and would look lovely with some dried bittersweet in an old stoneware crock. $49.99 includes free shipping within the USA

CORNELIUS CROW $65.00 plus shipping |
LOG CABIN PINCUSHION I have a long standing love affair with fabric!! Some of my favorites are civil war reproductions, wools, homespuns, ticking, linen, prairie cloth, muslin. Imagine my delight when I came across an old quilt done in a log cabin style. It is a wonderful old quilt, and is pretty large, but had some damage around the edges and is basically a cutter, but that didn't matter to me as I had PLANS!! I removed the straight stitching between the blocks and made a back for the block out of black prairie cloth, which I felt really added to the look of the piece. After stitching the two pieces together, I filled the square with clean sawdust. I also use a metal chopstick as wooden ones have a tendency to break, and I just keep pushing the sawdust to the corners first, and then squeeze it and keep this process up till it feels full!! This can take a while and be a bit messy too, so I put the sawdust in a pie plate and use a long handled teaspoon to add it to the funnel and also to spoon the final amount in to get it as full as possible!! The result is a 4 ½ inch square pincushion with rusty pins and old MOP buttons. It’s a My Primitive Heart original! $29.99 plus shipping | ||
